This is an interview conducted by Hong Kong Economic Times with a few HR professionals in Hong Kong including eeVoices. The question was whether overseas experience and working holiday experience add values to the CVs.
The overall conclusion is that relevant experience and the willingness to work overseas, including relocating and staying for a longer period of time in a country would help. As for working holidays, because the work experience is often in a non-related industry or job nature, employers might not be valuing such experience as much. However, the overseas exposure and experience in working with people from different background and culture no doubt are good for any job candidate’s long-term growth.
